Our part and the shop's part

Mention any warning lights or sounds; it helps the shop prepare. A person replies within one business day. Send a request with the car and what it needs. A person replies and arranges it with a trusted shop or recommends one. Give us the make, model and year, and a phone number for the shop to reach you.

Talking to the shop

If the car must stay overnight, ask where it will be kept. Ask for the work to be listed line by line on the invoice. Ask whether anything else is close to needing attention, and how soon. Ask when the car will be ready and how the shop will tell you.

Car care, briefly

Keep an emergency kit in the trunk in winter. Clear snow off the whole car, roof included, before you drive. Follow the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual, by time or distance.
