Emissions Test in Scissors, TX

Emissions Test in Scissors

CarmaCars arranges mechanical work through shops around Toronto and does not do the work itself; Scissors is about 2,589 km away. The job: An emissions test or emissions repair where your province or state requires one, by a licensed shop we arrange, not by CarmaCars. Rules on emissions testing differ by province and state.

What we arrange

You deal with the shop for the repair itself, and with us for the rental. Let us know where the car is and whether it is safe to drive. Mention any warning lights or sounds; it helps the shop prepare. If you already have a shop you trust, we can still rent you a car meanwhile.

Getting a clear quote

If a warning light was the reason, ask what the code was and what fixed it. Ask whether anything else is close to needing attention, and how soon. Ask whether the shop will check anything related while the car is there. Ask the shop to explain the repair in plain words before you agree.

Small things that help

Keep a record of every service; it helps the shop and adds value when you sell. Note the mileage when each service is done, so you know when the next is due. Check that all lights work every few weeks.
