Emissions tests are required in some provinces and states; a licensed shop does the test.

What we arrange

We pass your details to a trusted shop or give you its name, as you prefer. We keep you posted until the shop has the car booked in. We tell you plainly when we do not know a shop for the job. The shop quotes the work itself; we do not add to its price.

Between shop visits

Note the mileage when each service is done, so you know when the next is due. Keep an emergency kit in the trunk in winter. Wash the underside of the car in winter to clear road salt.

Before the shop starts

Ask what warranty the shop gives on its parts and labour. Keep the invoice; it is part of the car's service history. Ask how the shop will contact you if it finds something unexpected. Ask whether the shop will check anything related while the car is there.

Before you plan
