Emissions Test: how we help

An emissions test or emissions repair where your province or state requires one, by a licensed shop we arrange, not by CarmaCars. Emissions tests are required in some provinces and states; a licensed shop does the test.

How the request works

We pass your details to a trusted shop or give you its name, as you prefer. Let us know where the car is and whether it is safe to drive. We keep you posted until the shop has the car booked in. Tell us when suits you and whether the car can be driven.

Small things that help

Keep the fuel tank above a quarter in winter. If the car pulls to one side, ask the shop to check the alignment and the tires. Have the battery tested before winter if it is more than a few years old.

A short checklist

Ask how the shop will contact you if it finds something unexpected. If the car must stay overnight, ask where it will be kept. Ask whether the shop will check anything related while the car is there. Ask when the car will be ready and how the shop will tell you.
