Emissions Test in Sunset View

Arranging the work in Sunset View

Emissions Test in Sunset View: we do not do the work ourselves; we arrange it with a shop we trust. What it involves: An emissions test or emissions repair where your province or state requires one, by a licensed shop we arrange, not by CarmaCars. Rules on emissions testing differ by province and state.

The steps

You approve the shop's quote before any work begins. We pass your details to a trusted shop or give you its name, as you prefer. The repair is between you and the shop; the rental is with us. We tell you plainly when we do not know a shop for the job.

Driving while yours is at the shop

Keep moving with a rental while your car is at the shop, by the day at our usual rates. Rent the size of car you need for the days the repair takes. There is no charge to collect the car from us yourself.

Small things that help

Listen for new noises and mention them to the shop with as much detail as you can. Switch to winter tires before the first snow, and back in spring. Replace wiper blades when they streak; it matters in rain and snow.

Before the shop starts

Ask for the work to be listed line by line on the invoice. Ask what warranty the shop gives on its parts and labour. Keep the invoice; it is part of the car's service history. If a warning light was the reason, ask what the code was and what fixed it.
