Auto Loans: what CarmaCars does

We are a rental company, not a dealer or a lender, and this page explains how renting can help a buyer. We are not a lender and do not arrange loans. A monthly rental can bridge the time while you arrange one with your bank. If credit is the obstacle, a monthly rental is one way to have a car while you sort it out; renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check.

Why rent first

Renting the model you are thinking of buying, for a day or a week, is a real test drive on your own roads. A rental shows you the small things: the seat after an hour, the blind spots, the trunk with your stroller in it. A few days with the car answers whether the seats, the space and the fuel use suit you.

What to check before you buy

Ask for a test drive on the highway as well as in town. Look for rust under the doors and around the wheel arches. Have a mechanic inspect a used car before you buy it, at a shop you choose. A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy.

Bridging the gap

Weekly and monthly rates make a rental a sensible bridge between cars. There is no long contract, so a rental fits around any purchase date. A rental keeps you driving if your old car sells sooner than planned.
