Shopping for a car in Madison

CarmaCars does not sell cars, but before you buy one in Madison, a short rental can answer questions a test drive cannot. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card.

Drive it like you own it

A week of normal life with the car is the best test drive there is. Try the car with the people who will ride in it most. Bring the car seat, the hockey bag or the dog, and see if it all fits.

Checks worth doing

Measure your parking spot or garage before you fall for a bigger car. Compare the total cost, not only the monthly payment: interest, fees and insurance add up. Look for rust under the doors and around the wheel arches. Read the contract before you sign, and ask about every fee you do not understand.

Between cars

A rental means you never have to rush a purchase because you need wheels. Selling privately can take time; a rental means no rush. If the purchase falls through, you still have a car to drive.

Before you plan

CarmaCars works from one location in Toronto and does not operate in Madison. By straight line Madison is about 2,505 km from our location in Toronto; by road it is farther, and beyond our 250 km delivery area.

If you move to the Toronto area, renting the car you want to buy is easy. Our rentals start and end around Toronto; a test week has to begin there. Tell us what you are planning in Madison, and we will say what we can and cannot do. Note that our prices are shown in Canadian dollars.
