Buying a car in Mildred

CarmaCars rents cars and does not sell, lend or lease, but renting first is a smart step before buying. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out. If credit is the obstacle, a monthly rental is one way to have a car while you sort it out; renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check.

A test drive that lasts

Take the car home, load it with your things, park it where you park, and then decide. Rent the model, take it on the roads you know, and decide with confidence. Testing the car for a week shows how it handles your parking, your passengers and your bags.

A buyer's checklist

Measure your parking spot or garage before you fall for a bigger car. Find out whether the car has open recalls before you agree on a price. Ask for a test drive on the highway as well as in town. Look at real fuel use for the model, not only the advertised figure.

Bridging the gap

If the car you want is weeks away, rent one month at a time and stop when it arrives. There is no long contract, so a rental fits around any purchase date. Use a rental to try a different kind of car before you commit to one.

Honest about Mildred

Straight answer: there is no CarmaCars location in Mildred. We rent from Toronto. Mildred lies about 1,681 km from our location in Toronto, well beyond our 250 km delivery area.

If you move to the Toronto area, renting the car you want to buy is easy. Our rentals start and end around Toronto; a test week has to begin there. If you still want to ask about Mildred, send a request; we would rather say no than overpromise. Prices here are in Canadian dollars, not US dollars.

Next step

A rental request is free; the offer shows the full price.
