Auto Loans: what CarmaCars does

CarmaCars is not where you buy a car, but it can be where you try one first. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card. We are not a lender and do not arrange loans. A monthly rental can bridge the time while you arrange one with your bank.

Why rent first

Renting first means you buy knowing the car, not guessing. Renting the model first is a simple way to avoid buying the wrong car. A few days with the car answers whether the seats, the space and the fuel use suit you.

A buyer's checklist

Check the date on the tires and the condition of the brakes. A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy. Look for rust under the doors and around the wheel arches. Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN.

Before your next car arrives

Rent the kind of car you plan to buy while you shop for it. There is no long contract, so a rental fits around any purchase date. Renting while you shop lets you compare cars without pressure.

Honest about Pendleton

CarmaCars has a single location, in Toronto. Pendleton is outside the area we serve. About 1,043 km from central Toronto, Pendleton is too far for our delivery area of about 80 km.

If you move to the Toronto area, renting the car you want to buy is easy. Our rentals start and end around Toronto; a test week has to begin there. We would rather tell you no than overpromise, so ask about Pendleton if you like. All prices are in Canadian dollars.
