Shopping for a car in Tyro

CarmaCars is a rental company. We do not sell, finance or lease cars, but we can help you try one before you do. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card. We are not a lender and do not arrange loans. A monthly rental can bridge the time while you arrange one with your bank.

A test drive that lasts

Renting the model you are thinking of buying, for a day or a week, is a real test drive on your own roads. Many buyers rent the car they are considering for a weekend before they visit a dealer. Bring the car seat, the hockey bag or the dog, and see if it all fits.

What to check before you buy

Have a mechanic inspect a used car before you buy it, at a shop you choose. Confirm the ownership and that no money is still owed on the car. For a used car, ask for the vehicle's service records and look up its recall history by the VIN. Find out whether the car has open recalls before you agree on a price.

A car meanwhile

A rental keeps you driving if your old car sells sooner than planned. Between selling and buying, a weekly rental keeps the commute normal. A monthly rental keeps life moving while your financing is sorted out elsewhere.
