Shopping for a car in Commerce

CarmaCars rents cars in the Toronto area. We are not a dealership, and we do not arrange loans or leases. We do not check credit for loans or lend money; renting needs a licence, an identity check and a card. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out.

Why rent first

Renting the model first is a simple way to avoid buying the wrong car. A rental shows you the small things: the seat after an hour, the blind spots, the trunk with your stroller in it. A few days with the car answers whether the seats, the space and the fuel use suit you.

Before you sign

In Ontario, a private seller must give the buyer a Used Vehicle Information Package. Ask for a test drive on the highway as well as in town. Read the contract before you sign, and ask about every fee you do not understand. A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy.

Between cars

Need a car while a dealer prepares yours? Rent one by the week. You can switch to a different car at the end of a booking, which helps if you are comparing. Weekly and monthly rates make a rental a sensible bridge between cars.

Toronto based

There is no CarmaCars location in Commerce; everything we do starts in Toronto. About 1,521 km from our location in Toronto, Commerce is too far for our delivery area of about 250 km.

Our rentals start and end around Toronto; a test week has to begin there. If you are in the Toronto area before you shop, rent the model from us there. Need something in Commerce? Send a request and a person replies with an honest answer. Rates on this site are in Canadian dollars, before tax.
