Buying a car in School Key

Shopping for a car in School Key? CarmaCars is not a dealer, a lender or a leasing company. We rent cars. If credit is the obstacle, a monthly rental is one way to have a car while you sort it out; renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out.

Drive it like you own it

Bring the car seat, the hockey bag or the dog, and see if it all fits. Many buyers rent the car they are considering for a weekend before they visit a dealer. Try the car with the people who will ride in it most.

Questions to ask

Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN. Drive the car on the roads you use every day, at the times you usually drive. Compare the total cost, not only the monthly payment: interest, fees and insurance add up. Check the date on the tires and the condition of the brakes.

Between cars

If the car you want is weeks away, rent one month at a time and stop when it arrives. Renting while you shop lets you compare cars without pressure. Selling privately can take time; a rental means no rush.
