Buying a car in Smithfield

CarmaCars rents cars in the Toronto area. We are not a dealership, and we do not arrange loans or leases. Banks and credit unions arrange car loans; CarmaCars does not, but we can rent you a car while you sort one out. We are not a lender and do not arrange loans. A monthly rental can bridge the time while you arrange one with your bank.

A test drive that lasts

Renting the model you are thinking of buying, for a day or a week, is a real test drive on your own roads. Many buyers rent the car they are considering for a weekend before they visit a dealer. Take the car home, load it with your things, park it where you park, and then decide.

What to check before you buy

Look at real fuel use for the model, not only the advertised figure. Make sure every warning light goes out after the car starts. Ask your insurer for a quote on the exact model before you commit. A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy.

Before your next car arrives

There is no long contract: each booking runs up to 365 days and can be renewed. If the car you want is weeks away, rent one month at a time and stop when it arrives. A rental means you never have to rush a purchase because you need wheels.
