Thinking of buying the 2020 Honda Civic Si?

We are a rental company, not a dealer, so there is no 2020 Honda Civic Si for sale by us right now. Here is the 2020 Honda Civic Si for buyers: fuel use, size, recalls and a test drive that lasts a week.

What to check on the Civic

A pre-purchase inspection at a shop you choose is money well spent. Ask for the service records and check open recalls by the VIN. NHTSA has 236 owner complaints on file, mostly about electrical system, unknown or other and power train. There are 5 NHTSA recall campaigns on file; a dealer can check by the VIN whether each was done.

    Specs, explained

The 1.5L 4-cylinder turbo is what moves it, with front-wheel drive. The turbo gives a small engine the pull of a bigger one when you need it. Front-wheel drive is the usual layout for cars this size, predictable in the rain and the snow.

The combined figure, 6.9 L/100 km, means roughly 21 litres for 300 km. A 300 km round trip costs roughly $32.10 at our price setting. The EPA estimates US$1,960 a year in fuel for 15,000 miles.

    Living with the Civic

As a compact car, it has a closed trunk that keeps luggage out of sight. Its 736 litres of luggage space fit bulky luggage, a stroller or sports gear.

    Who it is for

It suits commuters, couples and business trips. It suits anyone who needs a car for a few days, a week or a month without buying one.

Rent it for a week first

Load it with your things and park it where you park; then decide. If the Civic is in our fleet, its page shows the rates; if not, a similar car helps you judge. Rent it, live with it for a week, and decide with real experience.

    What it costs to run

The EPA estimates US$1,960 a year in fuel for 15,000 miles at US prices. Ask what a set of tires costs for this trim; sizes and prices vary. At our price setting, 100 km costs about $10.70 in fuel.

    Which one to look for

Set a budget that includes tax, licensing, insurance and the first set of tires. Write down the VIN of any car you consider; it unlocks the recall and service history. If you are unsure between two options, rent one of them for a week first.

    The Civic and Farmbrook

We rent from Toronto only. If your trip to Farmbrook starts in the Toronto area, rent the car here. We have no location in Farmbrook; CarmaCars rents from Toronto, about 509 km away.
