Thinking of buying the 2020 Toyota Corolla LE?

CarmaCars is a rental company and does not have the 2020 Toyota Corolla LE for sale right now. Rent one for a week first, or ask us to look for one. Thinking about the 2020 Toyota Corolla LE? Here are the numbers in plain words and what to check.

What to check on the Corolla

In Ontario, a used car needs a Safety Standards Certificate to be registered. Ask for the service records and check open recalls by the VIN. A pre-purchase inspection at a shop you choose is money well spent. A private seller in Ontario must give you a Used Vehicle Information Package.

    What the figures tell you

The 2.0L 4-cylinder does the work, through an automatic (CVT). It runs on regular gas. Front-wheel drive is the usual layout for cars this size, predictable in the rain and the snow.

At 6.8 L/100 km combined, a 300 km drive takes roughly 20 litres of fuel. That works out to about $10.54 per 100 km at our price setting. At US fuel prices, the EPA estimates US$1,925 a year for 15,000 miles.

What to expect from the Corolla

As a compact car, it has a closed trunk that keeps luggage out of sight. For luggage, 510 litres means a family's bags for a long weekend.

    Best uses

It suits a stretch between cars, by the week or the month. It suits a work trip where a reliable car matters more than anything else.

Drive it on your own roads

Rent the Corolla first, and buy only if it fits your life. Nothing is charged until we confirm the rental and you approve the offer. Rent the Corolla for a week and see how it fits your life.

    Money matters

The EPA estimates US$1,925 a year in fuel for 15,000 miles at US prices. Ask what a set of tires costs for this trim; sizes and prices vary. At our price setting, 100 km costs about $10.54 in fuel.

    Choosing the right one

A newer year is not always better; check what changed before paying more for it. If you are unsure between two options, rent one of them for a week first. Decide what matters most first: fuel use, space, or the price you can pay.

    A note on Java

We rent from Toronto only. If your trip to Java starts in the Toronto area, rent the car here. Java is about 1,639 km from Toronto, outside our delivery area.
