Trade In: what CarmaCars does

Looking to buy? CarmaCars rents cars instead, which makes a test week easy. Between cars? Rent one by the week or the month while you decide what to do with yours. Selling a car can take weeks; a weekly rental means you do not have to keep it until it sells.

Why rent first

A week of normal life with the car is the best test drive there is. If we have the model in our fleet, its page shows the rates; if not, a similar car gives you a feel for the class. Try the car with the people who will ride in it most.

Checks worth doing

Check the tires and brakes: replacing them adds to the real price. A Safety Standards Certificate is needed in Ontario to register a used car you buy. Check open recalls with Transport Canada or the maker, using the VIN. Ask for a test drive on the highway as well as in town.

Before your next car arrives

There is no long contract, so a rental fits around any purchase date. You can switch to a different car at the end of a booking, which helps if you are comparing. Rent by the week while you compare, and stop the day your next car arrives.

A note on distance

CarmaCars operates from a single location in Toronto, so Mapleton is outside our area. About 2,685 km separate our location in Toronto and Mapleton, far past our 250 km delivery area.
