Before you rent
Drivers 18 and older can rent with a valid Ontario G2 or G licence. There is no maximum age. Drivers under 26 pay a young driver fee each day. A credit card in your name is needed, except on cars marked "no credit card needed", which take debit.
You need one of three things in place for damage to the car: OPCF 27 on your own policy, a credit card that covers rentals, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. There is a deposit for each rental, taken shortly before pickup rather than at booking. Additional drivers can be added; each one meets the same rules and signs the agreement.
Request, offer, keys
Pick your car, enter your dates and send the request. That is all you do at first, and it is free. Our reply is an offer that lists the rate, the kilometres included and any delivery fee. An offer is valid for 24 hours, and you pay only when you approve it.
Each car page lists what is included and what costs extra. Short trips and long stays use the same request; the rate follows the length. A request can be for today, as long as the pickup is at least 2 hours away.
