What the specs mean

It runs the 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo, with front-wheel drive. The turbo gives a small engine the pull of a bigger one when you need it. With front-wheel drive, the weight of the engine sits over the driven wheels, which helps in winter.

A combined rating of 7.8 L/100 km works out to about 23 litres per 300 km. For 1,000 km, budget about $136.50 at our price setting.

Size and space

It is a straightforward car to drive, park and live with. EPA lists 368 litres of luggage space, enough for about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.

A good match for

It suits people curious about the model who want to drive it before they buy. It suits anyone who needs a car for a few days, a week or a month without buying one.

Booking in plain terms

First you send a request with the car and the times. No card is charged for it. The reply is an offer you can read in full before you decide anything. If it suits you, approve it and pay. Until then, nothing is charged.

You can check any car's calendar before you send a request. Weekly pricing starts at 7 days, and a trip never costs more than that rate for a week. Allow 2 hours or more between your request and the pickup time.

Who qualifies

The minimum age is 18, and the licence must be an Ontario G2 or G, valid for the whole trip. The daily young driver fee is shown on each car's page, for drivers under 26. The payment card and the licence must match the driver's name.

Liability to others is in the rate. Damage to the car is handled by your policy (OPCF 27), your card's rental benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan, priced in your offer. There is a deposit for each rental, taken shortly before pickup rather than at booking. Everyone who will drive signs the agreement after the licence check.
