Specs, explained

The engine is the 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo hybrid, with all-wheel drive and a 7-speed automatic. It is a hybrid: the battery charges itself as you drive and brake, so there is nothing to plug in. With all-wheel drive, it pulls away more surely on slippery roads, though it does not stop any shorter.

Fuel use is rated 9.3 L/100 km combined, so 300 km needs about 28 litres. At our price setting, it costs about $14.42 to drive 100 km.

Best uses

It suits a stretch of weeks between selling one car and buying the next. It suits visitors who want a familiar car for a week in town.

What to expect from the Q5

Being a compact SUV, it handles luggage, strollers and sports gear well.

Getting one from us

Tell us your dates and we check this car or the closest match. This exact car is not in our fleet at the moment; a request asks us to look for one. Meanwhile, 6 similar cars are listed below. The car can come to your door in the Toronto area, or you pick it up at no charge.

The rules, briefly

If you are 18 or over and hold an Ontario G2 or G licence, you can rent. Drivers under 26 pay a young driver fee for each day, shown on each car's page. Bring a card in your name; a card in someone else's name cannot be used.

The CarmaCars Protection Plan is one of three options for damage to the car; the others are OPCF 27 on your policy or a card with rental car benefits. We take the deposit shortly before pickup and return it after the car comes back. A quick licence and identity check happens before we confirm any booking.

Request, offer, keys

Every booking starts as a request: the car, the dates and where you want it. Nothing is charged to send one. A person checks the request and sends you an offer with the full price. If it suits you, approve it and pay. Until then, nothing is charged.

Compare cars side by side by opening their pages. The longer the booking, the lower the rate a day tends to be. A request can be for today, as long as the pickup is at least 2 hours away.

One more step

Tell us your dates and where you want the car, and we will do the rest.
