Java and the Civic

Java is about 1,639 km from our Toronto location, beyond the area we deliver to. We rent from Toronto only. If your trip to Java starts in the Toronto area, rent the car here.

Around Java you will also find Selby, Lowry and Sitka.

What the figures tell you

The 1.5L 4-cylinder turbo with front-wheel drive is the powertrain to look at. The turbo gives a small engine the pull of a bigger one when you need it. Front-wheel drive is the usual layout for cars this size, predictable in the rain and the snow.

For 300 km of mixed driving, expect about 20 litres, from its 6.7 L/100 km rating. At our price setting, 1,000 km costs about $103.90.

Who the Civic suits

It suits a family trip where everyone and everything fits in one car. It suits visitors who want a familiar car for a week in town.

Inside and out

As a compact car, it is easy to drive and park in the city. The EPA measures its luggage space at 425 litres, roughly a family's bags for a long weekend.

What to bring

Every driver must be 18 or older with an Ontario G2 or G licence. A young driver fee applies each day for drivers under 26. The name on the card has to match the name on the licence.

Choose before pickup how damage to the car is handled: your policy with OPCF 27, your card's rental benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit is taken about 1 hour before pickup, never when you book. We verify licences and identity for every renter, with no exceptions.

How booking works

Booking is by request, never instant. You send the car and the dates, and a person at CarmaCars reviews it. You get an offer that says exactly what the rental costs before tax. You have 24 hours to approve an offer, and payment comes with your approval.

Each car shows its own extra kilometre rate, so nothing surprises you later. A rental of 7 days or longer is priced at the weekly rate. The shortest notice we accept before a pickup is 2 hours.

When you know your dates

When you have your dates, send a request. It is free, and the offer shows the full price.
