The 2021 Honda Civic EX, explained

Renting for Java

We rent from Toronto only. If your trip to Java starts in the Toronto area, rent the car here. We have no location in Java; CarmaCars rents from Toronto, about 1,639 km away.

Selby, Lowry and Sitka are the neighbouring places on our list.

About the colour

In black, the Civic looks like the studio image; real photos are on each car's page. If you want it in black, say so in your request and we look for one for your dates. Our black cars of this kind are listed first, when we have one.

What the specs mean

Power comes from the 1.5L 4-cylinder turbo, driving through an automatic (CVT). The turbo gives a small engine the pull of a bigger one when you need it. With front-wheel drive, the weight of the engine sits over the driven wheels, which helps in winter.

At 6.9 L/100 km combined, a 300 km drive takes roughly 21 litres of fuel. That works out to about $10.70 per 100 km at our price setting.

The Civic in everyday use

It is a straightforward car to drive, park and live with. At 736 litres, the trunk fits bulky luggage, a stroller or sports gear.

Who rents the Civic

It suits commuters, couples and business trips. It suits a family trip where everyone and everything fits in one car.

Renting it

This exact car is not in our fleet at the moment; a request asks us to look for one. If you want this one, say so in the request; we confirm before you pay. Meanwhile, 8 similar cars are listed below.

The steps

To get started, send a request for the car and dates. You are not charged for it. We send the offer to your account and your email, with the total shown. Offers stay open for 24 hours. Approve one and pay to book the car.

A car's page shows the deposit and the kilometres included each day. The monthly rate covers a booking of up to 365 days. Book ahead if you can; 2 hours is the shortest notice we take.

Rules for renters

You need an Ontario G2 or G licence, valid for the whole rental, and to be 18 or older. The daily young driver fee is shown on each car's page, for drivers under 26. A card in your name pays for the rental, and we see it with your licence at pickup.

Third-party liability is in the rate; for the car, bring OPCF 27, use your card's benefit, or add the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit is taken shortly before pickup, and the balance comes back after the return. Every renter goes through the same check of licence and identity before the car is confirmed.
