Getting to know the 2011 Lexus HS

This page covers the 2011 Lexus HS: what it ran on, what it used and which trims Canada got.

Specs, explained

The powertrain to know here is the 2.4L 4-cylinder hybrid, with front-wheel drive. As a hybrid, it does best in stop-and-go traffic, where the electric motor does more of the work. Front-wheel drive is the usual layout for cars this size, predictable in the rain and the snow. A continuously variable automatic keeps the engine in its most efficient range.

Combined fuel use is 6.9 L/100 km: about 21 litres for 300 km. The split is 6.7 L/100 km in town and 7.2 on the highway. That works out to about $10.70 per 100 km at our price setting.

Road trips

Return the car with the fuel it had at pickup, or a fee applies. Each car shows the kilometres included each day and the rate for extra ones. A long weekend away is easy to price with the figures on this page.

What the HS is like

As a compact car, it is easy to drive and park in the city. The trunk holds 340 litres by the EPA's count: about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.

A good match for

It suits someone whose own car is in the shop for a while. It suits a family trip where everyone and everything fits in one car. It suits commuters, couples and business trips.

In our fleet

Similar cars are below if you need one sooner. Ask for this exact car in your request, and we tell you what we can offer. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. We deliver across the Toronto area, or you collect the car from our location for free.

Who can rent

If you are 18 or over and hold an Ontario G2 or G licence, you can rent. If any driver is under 26, a young driver fee is added for each day. Debit works on cars marked "no credit card needed"; the others take a credit card.

Liability to other people is included in every rate. For the car itself, pick your own policy (OPCF 27), a card with rental car benefits, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit comes about 1 hour before you get the car, not at booking. Extra drivers are welcome; each one is checked and signs the agreement.

Getting the car booked

Every booking starts as a request: the car, the dates and where you want it. Nothing is charged to send one. We send the offer to your account and your email, with the total shown. Nothing is charged until you approve it and pay.

Each car shows its own extra kilometre rate, so nothing surprises you later. A booking can be a single day or up to 365 days. Book ahead if you can; 2 hours is the shortest notice we take.
