Colour notes

The studio image shows the MX-5 in white; photos of each real car are on its page. A white car can be requested, but never promised before we confirm. Ask for white in your request; the offer confirms the colour of the car.

Reading the spec sheet

The 2.0L 4-cylinder with rear-wheel drive is the powertrain to look at. It calls for premium gas, which costs more a litre than regular. Rear-wheel drive gives balanced handling; in winter, the tires make the biggest difference.

By the EPA's combined rating of 7.9 L/100 km, 300 km takes about 24 litres. A 300 km round trip costs roughly $41.49 at our price setting.

When the MX-5 makes sense

It suits a weekend away when the train does not reach where you are going. It suits anyone who needs a car for a few days, a week or a month without buying one.

What the MX-5 is like

As a two-seat sports car, it puts the driving first and the luggage second. Our car of this model has 2 seats.

Can I rent it?

1 of our cars match this page; each shows its rates and calendar. Ask for this exact car in your request, and we tell you what we can offer.

The booking steps

It begins with your request, sent online in a few minutes, with no payment. A staff member reads the request and sends the offer. We reply within 2 hours. An offer is valid for 24 hours, and you pay only when you approve it.

Prices on each car's page are before tax, and the offer adds the tax. Short trips and long stays use the same request; the rate follows the length. A request can be for today, as long as the pickup is at least 2 hours away.

Licence, age and card

Drivers 18 and older can rent with a valid Ontario G2 or G licence. There is no maximum age. Drivers under 26 pay a young driver fee each day. We check that the card and the licence carry the same name.

The CarmaCars Protection Plan is one of three options for damage to the car; the others are OPCF 27 on your policy or a card with rental car benefits. The deposit is taken shortly before pickup, and the balance comes back after the return. Before confirming, we verify the licence and identity of each driver.

When you know your dates

Request a car, read the offer, and decide. That is the whole process.
