    Engine and fuel

The powertrain here is the 2.5L 4-cylinder with all-wheel drive and an automatic (CVT). It runs on regular gas. All-wheel drive sends power to all four wheels, which helps on snow and wet roads; good tires still matter most.

A combined rating of 8.2 L/100 km works out to about 25 litres per 300 km. At our price setting, driving 100 km costs about $12.71, and a 300 km weekend about $38.13.

    Who rents the Forester

Families, skiers and anyone with bulky luggage. It suits people curious about the model who want to drive it before they buy.

    Practical details

An SUV body means more headroom and a taller cargo opening than a car of the same length.

    Our Forester cars

We have none on the site right now. Send a request for this exact car and we look for one for your dates. Want a car for specific dates? Put them in the request and we check. Meanwhile, 6 similar cars are listed below.

    What to have ready

An Ontario G2 or G licence and an age of 18 or more are the starting point. If you are under 26, expect a young driver fee each day; there is no upper age limit. Your original licence, not a photo, comes with you to the handover.

Before the keys change hands, one of three options must be in place for the car: OPCF 27, a card benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. We take the deposit shortly before pickup and return it after the car comes back. Licence and identity checks happen before the booking is confirmed.

    Your booking, in three steps

First you send a request with the car and the times. No card is charged for it. A person replies with an offer priced for your dates, not an estimate. When you approve the offer and pay, the car is booked for you.

Each car page lists what is included and what costs extra. From one day to 365, a single booking covers it. Leave at least 2 hours between your request and the pickup.

    Your move

Pick the car that fits the trip and send a request.

The Base and the other 2021 trims

    • The Base is trim 1 of 6 in the Canadian lineup, the entry trim.
    • It shares its EPA-rated powertrain with the Convenience, Touring, Sport, Limited and Premier, so the difference is in equipment, not the engine.
