Specs, explained

The engine is the 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo hybrid, with all-wheel drive and a 7-speed automatic. As a hybrid, it does best in stop-and-go traffic, where the electric motor does more of the work. All-wheel drive helps when pulling away on snow; braking and steering still depend on the tires.

Plan on about 25 litres per 300 km; the combined rating is 8.3 L/100 km. A 300 km weekend costs about $38.61 in energy at our price setting.

Good uses for the A4

It suits client visits, weddings and special weekends. It suits visitors who want a familiar car for a week in town.

The A4 in everyday use

It is a straightforward car to drive, park and live with. With 340 litres of luggage space by the EPA's measure, it takes about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.

Can I rent it?

If you want this one, say so in the request; we confirm before you pay. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. Meanwhile, 6 similar cars are listed below.

What you need to rent

An Ontario G2 or G licence and an age of 18 or more are the starting point. A young driver fee applies each day for drivers under 26. At pickup, have your original licence and the payment card ready.

The CarmaCars Protection Plan is one of three options for damage to the car; the others are OPCF 27 on your policy or a card with rental car benefits. The deposit is separate from the rental price and is returned after the rental. We check every driver; it takes a few minutes and protects everyone.

The booking steps

Nothing to pay up front: the first step is simply a request. Someone on our team confirms the car is free for those dates and sends you an offer with every charge listed. If you approve, you pay and the car is yours for those dates.

The calendar on each car's page helps you pick dates that work. A booking can be a single day or up to 365 days. Pickups need at least 2 hours of notice from the time you send the request.

When the dates are set, a request gets you a real price.
