Buying the 2019 Toyota Corolla SE

CarmaCars rents cars and does not sell the 2019 Toyota Corolla SE; this page helps you judge it before you buy one elsewhere. CarmaCars does not finance cars. Renting is not a loan, so there is no credit check to rent. Buying the 2019 Toyota Corolla SE is a big decision; here is the information we have.

A buyer's checks

Check whether every recall was done, by the VIN, before you pay. Ask the seller for the service records of this exact car. NHTSA lists 6 recall campaigns for this model; ask the seller for proof each one was fixed. Have a mechanic inspect a used one before you buy it.

What the specs mean

The powertrain here is the 2.0L 4-cylinder with front-wheel drive and an automatic (CVT). It runs on regular gas. Front-wheel drive is the usual layout for cars this size, predictable in the rain and the snow.

Fuel use is rated 6.6 L/100 km combined, so 300 km needs about 20 litres. At our price setting, 1,000 km costs about $102.30. The EPA estimates US$1,850 a year in fuel for 15,000 miles.

Size and space

Its car body is low and settled, with a separate trunk. Luggage space is 510 litres, enough for a family's bags for a long weekend.

Who the Corolla suits

It suits a stretch of weeks between selling one car and buying the next. It suits a stretch between cars, by the week or the month.

Try before you buy

Nothing is charged until we confirm the rental and you approve the offer. A test week in the Corolla tells you more than any review. Try the Corolla on your commute, then decide.

What it costs to run

A 1,000 km month costs roughly $102.30 at our price setting. Get an insurance quote for this exact model before you buy; rates differ a lot between models. Tires, brakes and batteries are the regular costs to budget for beyond fuel.

Year and trim

Ask the seller which trim it is; badges can be swapped and options vary. Decide what matters most first: fuel use, space, or the price you can pay. Look at a few listings of the same year and trim to get a feel for fair prices.
