A note on Java

Java is about 1,639 km from our Toronto location, beyond the area we deliver to. If you are starting from Toronto, rent the car here and drive it to Java.

The pages for Selby, Lowry and Sitka cover the areas next door.

Under the hood

The powertrain to know here is the 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo, with front-wheel drive. The turbo gives a small engine the pull of a bigger one when you need it. Front-wheel drive is the usual layout for cars this size, predictable in the rain and the snow.

A combined rating of 7.9 L/100 km works out to about 24 litres per 300 km. For 1,000 km, budget about $138.30 at our price setting.

What to expect from the A4

As a compact car, it is easy to drive and park in the city. At 4.76 m from bumper to bumper, it is on the long side. Check the size of a tight parking spot. EPA lists 368 litres of luggage space, enough for about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.

When the A4 makes sense

It suits a family trip where everyone and everything fits in one car. It suits a weekend away when the train does not reach where you are going.

In our fleet

Meanwhile, 6 similar cars are listed below. We have none on the site right now. Send a request for this exact car and we look for one for your dates. Ask for this exact car in your request, and we tell you what we can offer.

Driver basics

Every driver needs an Ontario G2 or G licence and must be 18 or older. A daily young driver fee applies to drivers under 26, with no maximum age. Bring a card in your name; a card in someone else's name cannot be used.

Third-party liability comes with every rate. For the car itself: your own policy with OPCF 27, a card that covers rentals, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit comes about 1 hour before you get the car, not at booking. Each extra driver is checked the same way and signs the rental agreement.

From your dates to the handover

Your part at the start is short: choose a car and dates and send a free request. Our reply is an offer that lists the rate, the kilometres included and any delivery fee. You pay only once you approve the offer.

The rates you see on a car's page are the rates in your offer. From 7 days, the weekly rate applies; up to 365 days, a trip never costs more than the monthly rate. Book ahead if you can; 2 hours is the shortest notice we take.
