The Porsche and a diagnostic check: CarmaCars arranges a trusted shop, and never does the work itself. A warning light is the car asking for a diagnostic scan; the code tells the shop where to look.
Details the shop needs
Mention the trim and engine in your request; parts differ between them. Note the mileage on the odometer when you send the request. A photo of the dashboard warning light helps the shop prepare.
How the arrangement works
Your request goes to a person, who arranges a trusted shop or gives you its name. You agree the price with the shop before any work starts. You agree everything with the shop before work begins.
A rental while you wait
Rent by the day or the week, and stop when your car is back. Add a rental to the same request as the repair. We deliver around Toronto; pickup at our location is free.
Small things that help
Keep the fuel tank above a quarter in winter. Note the mileage when each service is done, so you know when the next is due. Use the grade of fuel your owner's manual calls for.
Talking to the shop
Ask for a written estimate before any work starts. Ask how the shop will contact you if it finds something unexpected. Ask how long the job should take, so you know how long to rent for.
