Car diagnostics: how we help

Car diagnostics for your 2020 Subaru Forester Base: arranged with a trusted shop, never done by CarmaCars, with a rental if you need one. A steady check engine light needs a check soon; a flashing one means pull over safely and get help.

Before the shop sees your Forester

The shop may ask for the VIN to order the right parts. Your owner's manual lists the maintenance schedule for the Forester. Tell the shop the year, the trim and the engine: the 2.5L 4-cylinder. The engine is the 2.5L 4-cylinder, with all-wheel drive and an automatic (CVT).

Who does what

We follow up until the shop has the car booked in. We tell you plainly if we do not know a shop for the job. Send the car's details and what it needs; we take it from there.

A car meanwhile

Rent by the day while the shop has your car. If the repair runs long, keep the rental longer. We bring the car to your address in the Toronto area, or you collect it for free.

Small things that help

Keep a record of every service; it helps the shop and adds value when you sell. If the car pulls to one side, ask the shop to check the alignment and the tires. Keep an emergency kit in the trunk in winter.

Talking to the shop

Ask whether anything else is close to needing attention, and how soon. Ask how the shop takes payment before you pick the car up. If the car must stay overnight, ask where it will be kept.

Make a request

Start with the car, the job and your location.
