Power: the 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo hybrid; drive: all-wheel drive. As a hybrid, it does best in stop-and-go traffic, where the electric motor does more of the work. All-wheel drive helps when pulling away on snow; braking and steering still depend on the tires.

It is rated at 9.3 L/100 km combined; 300 km takes about 28 litres. Every 100 km costs about $14.42 in fuel at our price setting.

How booking works

Requests come first at CarmaCars. You name the car and the dates, and we take it from there. A person checks the request and sends you an offer with the full price. Say yes to the offer and pay; that is when the booking is made.

Every car lists its own deposit and the kilometres included each day. Need it longer than 365 days? Renew with a new agreement when the booking ends. With 2 hours of notice or more, a same-day pickup can work when the car is free.

Before pickup

An Ontario G2 or G licence and an age of 18 or more are the starting point. Age fees stop at 26: younger drivers pay a daily young driver fee. A card in your name pays for the rental, and we see it with your licence at pickup.

For damage to the car itself, have your own policy (OPCF 27), a credit card with rental car coverage, or add the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit is separate from the rental price and is returned after the rental. Everyone who will drive signs the agreement after the licence check.
