Ruby and the Q7

Specs, explained

Its powertrain is the 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo with all-wheel drive. It calls for premium gas, which costs more a litre than regular. All-wheel drive sends power to all four wheels, which helps on snow and wet roads; good tires still matter most.

It is rated at 11.4 L/100 km combined, so budget about 34 litres for 300 km. A 300 km weekend costs about $59.85 in energy at our price setting.

Living with the Q7

As a full-size SUV, it sits higher than a sedan, which makes getting in and loading easier.

Who rents the Q7

It suits client visits, weddings and special weekends. It suits a weekend away when the train does not reach where you are going.

Renting it

If you want this one, say so in the request; we confirm before you pay. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. Your offer shows the delivery fee if you want the car brought to you.

Booking in plain terms

First you send a request with the car and the times. No card is charged for it. We confirm the details and send an offer. It lists the rental, any delivery and any add-ons. You pay when you approve, and only then.

Open a car to see its photos, rates, deposit and kilometres included. The monthly rate covers a booking of up to 365 days. Book ahead if you can; 2 hours is the shortest notice we take.

Who qualifies

Ontario G2 or G licence holders aged 18 and up can request a car. There is no upper age limit, and drivers under 26 pay a fee for each day. Bring the card you paid with and your original licence to the handover.

You need one of three things in place for damage to the car: OPCF 27 on your own policy, a credit card that covers rentals, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit amount depends on the car and is shown on its page. Each renter is checked the same way, before the booking is confirmed.

When you know your dates

The quickest way to a price is a request with your dates. It costs nothing.
