Specs, explained

Under the hood: the 1.5L 4-cylinder turbo and front-wheel drive. The turbo gives a small engine the pull of a bigger one when you need it. With front-wheel drive, the weight of the engine sits over the driven wheels, which helps in winter.

Combined fuel use is 6.7 L/100 km: about 20 litres for 300 km. In energy, every 100 km costs about $10.39 at our price setting.

Who rents the Civic

It suits a work trip where a reliable car matters more than anything else. It suits anyone who needs a car for a few days, a week or a month without buying one.

Living with the Civic

As a compact car, it has a closed trunk that keeps luggage out of sight. With 425 litres of luggage space by the EPA's measure, it takes a family's bags for a long weekend.

Driver requirements

You need an Ontario G2 or G licence, valid for the whole rental, and to be 18 or older. There is no upper age limit, and drivers under 26 pay a fee for each day. Payment is by a card in your name, shown with your licence at pickup.

Every rate includes liability to others. Damage to the car is covered by your choice: OPCF 27, your card's rental benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. A deposit applies to every rental. It is shown on the car's page and taken about 1 hour before pickup. We check your licence and identity before we confirm, the same way for every renter.

Getting the car booked

Tell us the car and the dates in a request. There is no fee for asking. We confirm and price it, and the offer arrives in your account and by email. Approve it and the car is booked; decline it and nothing happens.

The rates you see on a car's page are the rates in your offer. The monthly rate covers a booking of up to 365 days. The minimum notice is 2 hours, so an afternoon pickup can be requested in the morning.
