The Corolla and Java

We have no location in Java; CarmaCars rents from Toronto, about 1,639 km away. If you are starting from Toronto, rent the car here and drive it to Java.

Other places near Java: Selby, Lowry and Sitka.

Under the hood

The engine is the 1.8L 4-cylinder, with front-wheel drive and an automatic (CVT). It runs on regular gas. With front-wheel drive, the weight of the engine sits over the driven wheels, which helps in winter.

Plan on about 23 litres per 300 km; the combined rating is 7.5 L/100 km. A 300 km round trip costs roughly $34.89 at our price setting.

A good match for

It suits a stretch of weeks between selling one car and buying the next. It suits visitors who want a familiar car for a week in town.

Inside and out

Its car body is low and settled, with a separate trunk. Its 368 litres of luggage space fit about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.

Getting the car booked

To book, you request the car for your dates. There is no charge to send it and no obligation. We review it and reply with an offer that shows the whole price, delivery included when you asked for it. If it suits you, approve it and pay. Until then, nothing is charged.

A car's page shows the deposit and the kilometres included each day. Weekly pricing starts at 7 days, and a trip never costs more than that rate for a week. Requests need at least 2 hours of notice before the pickup time.

Renting: the basics

You need to be 18 or older at pickup, with an Ontario G2 or G licence valid for the whole rental. Drivers under 26 pay a young driver fee for each day, shown on each car's page. The name on the card has to match the name on the licence.

Third-party liability is part of every rate, and damage to the car is handled by OPCF 27, a card benefit or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. A deposit applies to every rental. It is shown on the car's page and taken about 1 hour before pickup. Extra drivers are welcome; each one is checked and signs the agreement.

Your move

Ready? Request the car. If you change your mind before approving the offer, nothing is charged.
