What the figures tell you

Its powertrain is the 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo hybrid with all-wheel drive. It is a hybrid: the battery charges itself as you drive and brake, so there is nothing to plug in. All-wheel drive helps when pulling away on snow; braking and steering still depend on the tires.

Combined fuel use is 8.3 L/100 km: about 25 litres for 300 km. Per 100 km, plan on roughly $12.87.

Who it is for

It suits a stretch of weeks between selling one car and buying the next. It suits stop-and-go driving and rideshare or delivery work.

Space, size and seats

As a compact car, it has a closed trunk that keeps luggage out of sight. The trunk holds 340 litres by the EPA's count: about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.

Booking in plain terms

Booking is by request, never instant. You send the car and the dates, and a person at CarmaCars reviews it. Our offer spells out the rate, the delivery fee if any, and the deposit. Your card is charged only when you approve the offer.

Each car's calendar shows the days it is already booked. A single booking can run up to 365 days. For longer, it renews month after month. With 2 hours of notice or more, a same-day pickup can work when the car is free.

The rules, briefly

You need to be 18 or older at pickup, with an Ontario G2 or G licence valid for the whole rental. No maximum age, and a daily fee only for drivers under 26. Cars marked "no credit card needed" accept a debit card in your name; the others need a credit card.

The CarmaCars Protection Plan is one of three options for damage to the car; the others are OPCF 27 on your policy or a card with rental car benefits. The deposit is taken shortly before pickup, and the balance comes back after the return. Each renter is checked the same way, before the booking is confirmed.
