Engine and fuel

Power comes from the 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo hybrid, driving through a 7-speed automatic. It is a hybrid: the battery charges itself as you drive and brake, so there is nothing to plug in. All-wheel drive helps when pulling away on snow; braking and steering still depend on the tires.

It is rated at 8.3 L/100 km combined; 300 km takes about 25 litres. At our price setting, 1,000 km costs about $128.70.

Size and space

A car body like this keeps the weight low, so it feels settled on the highway. Its 340 litre trunk is enough for about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.

Who it is for

It suits anyone who needs a car for a few days, a week or a month without buying one. It suits a stretch of weeks between selling one car and buying the next.

Can I rent it?

There is no exact match in our fleet today. Request it and we search for one, or take a similar car. Meanwhile, 6 similar cars are listed below. A request for your dates gets you an offer from a person. Your offer shows the delivery fee if you want the car brought to you.

Your request, our offer, your keys

You ask for the car you want for the dates you need. The request itself is free. A person replies with an offer priced for your dates, not an estimate. Your card is charged only when you approve the offer.

Every car lists its own deposit and the kilometres included each day. Book one day, one week, or up to 365 days at once. Requests for later the same day work when there are at least 2 hours to spare.

What we ask of drivers

An Ontario G2 or G licence and an age of 18 or more are the starting point. From 26, no age fee applies; below it, a daily young driver fee does. You show your original licence and your card when we hand you the keys.

You need one of three things in place for damage to the car: OPCF 27 on your own policy, a credit card that covers rentals, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Each car's deposit is listed on its page, so you know it before you ask. If another person will drive, add them; they go through the same check.
