Renting the 2017 BYD e6

Car with driver: the 2017 BYD e6. Here is the car in plain words, and how renting one from CarmaCars works. Chauffeur bookings are by the hour, two hours minimum; send a request and we reply with the vehicle we can offer and the price.

What the specs mean

The engine is the electric motor, with front-wheel drive and a 1-speed automatic. It is fully electric: no gas at all, and you return it with the charge it had at pickup. Front-wheel drive is the usual layout for cars this size, predictable in the rain and the snow.

At 29.2 kWh/100 km, a 300 km day uses roughly 88 kWh. Its rated range is 301 km on a full charge; real range drops in cold weather and at highway speeds. Expect about $4.38 per 100 km at our price setting.

Living with the e6

The higher seat of a compact SUV gives a good view of the road in traffic. For luggage, 453 litres means a family's bags for a long weekend.

When the e6 makes sense

It suits people who want to try an electric car before buying one. It suits visitors who want a familiar car for a week in town.

Rent it from us

A request for your dates gets you an offer from a person. We have none on the site right now. Send a request for this exact car and we look for one for your dates. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. Collect the car at our location for free, or have it delivered.

What to have ready

Renters must be at least 18 and hold an Ontario G2 or G licence. If you are under 26, expect a young driver fee each day; there is no upper age limit. At pickup, have your original licence and the payment card ready.

If you have no auto policy and no card benefit, the CarmaCars Protection Plan is the third option, priced in your offer. Each car shows its deposit, and we take it about 1 hour before pickup. Licence and identity checks happen before the booking is confirmed.

Request, offer, keys

A short online request with the car and your times gets things moving, at no cost. Next comes our offer, with the confirmed car and every charge on one page. The car is yours for those dates once you approve and pay the offer.

Open a car to see its photos, rates, deposit and kilometres included. Trips of 7 days or more use the weekly rate, and shorter trips never cost more than it. Same-day requests are fine with at least 2 hours of notice, when the car is free.
