The rules, briefly

An Ontario G2 or G licence and an age of 18 or more are the starting point. From 26, no age fee applies; below it, a daily young driver fee does. Cars marked "no credit card needed" accept a debit card in your name; the others need a credit card.

If you have no auto policy and no card benefit, the CarmaCars Protection Plan is the third option, priced in your offer. There is a deposit for each rental, taken shortly before pickup rather than at booking. Extra drivers are welcome; each one is checked and signs the agreement.
