What the specs mean

Its electric motor drives through a 1-speed automatic. Being electric, it is quiet and quick from a stop, and it charges at home, at work or at public chargers. All-wheel drive helps when pulling away on snow; braking and steering still depend on the tires.

For every 100 km it uses about 18.9 kWh. A full charge is rated for 488 km; plan for less in the cold. In energy, every 100 km costs about $2.84 at our price setting.

When the Model Y makes sense

It suits visitors who want a familiar car for a week in town. It suits a family trip where everyone and everything fits in one car.

How big it is

The higher seat of a compact SUV gives a good view of the road in traffic.

What we check

If you are 18 or over and hold an Ontario G2 or G licence, you can rent. Under 26, a young driver fee applies for each day of the rental. At pickup, have your original licence and the payment card ready.

The CarmaCars Protection Plan is one of three options for damage to the car; the others are OPCF 27 on your policy or a card with rental car benefits. The deposit is released after the return, once the car is checked. Extra drivers are welcome; each one is checked and signs the agreement.

From request to keys

You choose a car and your dates online and send a request. Sending it costs nothing. If the car is free, you get an offer with the full price; if not, we suggest another car. If the offer works for you, approve and pay to confirm. If not, you owe nothing.

A car's page shows the deposit and the kilometres included each day. A rental of 7 days or longer is priced at the weekly rate. At least 2 hours must separate the request from the pickup.

Make a request

The quickest way to a price is a request with your dates. It costs nothing.
