What the specs mean

It is powered by the 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo hybrid, with all-wheel drive. It is a hybrid: the battery charges itself as you drive and brake, so there is nothing to plug in. All-wheel drive helps when pulling away on snow; braking and steering still depend on the tires.

It is rated 8.3 L/100 km combined: about 25 litres every 300 km. Driving 300 km costs roughly $38.61 at our price setting.

Living with the A4

It is a straightforward car to drive, park and live with. Its 340 litre trunk is enough for about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.

When the A4 makes sense

It suits commuters, couples and business trips. It suits a stretch of weeks between selling one car and buying the next.

Booking in plain terms

To book, you request the car for your dates. There is no charge to send it and no obligation. If the car is free, you get an offer with the full price; if not, we suggest another car. You pay when you approve, and only then.

A car's page shows the deposit and the kilometres included each day. Stay as long as you need: up to 365 days a booking, then renew. Pickups need at least 2 hours of notice from the time you send the request.

Licence, age and card

You need to be 18 or older at pickup, with an Ontario G2 or G licence valid for the whole rental. There is no upper age limit, and drivers under 26 pay a fee for each day. Payment is by a card in your name, shown with your licence at pickup.

Before pickup, choose how damage to the car is handled: your auto policy (OPCF 27), your credit card's rental benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. A deposit applies to every rental. It is shown on the car's page and taken about 1 hour before pickup. Extra drivers are welcome; each one is checked and signs the agreement.

One more step

A request takes a few minutes and puts a real offer in front of you.
