Engine and fuel

The powertrain here is the 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo hybrid with all-wheel drive and a 7-speed automatic. As a hybrid, it does best in stop-and-go traffic, where the electric motor does more of the work. All-wheel drive sends power to all four wheels, which helps on snow and wet roads; good tires still matter most.

The EPA rates it at 8.3 L/100 km combined, so a 300 km weekend uses about 25 litres. Driving 300 km costs roughly $38.61 at our price setting.

Space and size

As a compact car, it is easy to drive and park in the city. EPA lists 340 litres of luggage space, enough for about two large suitcases and a few soft bags.

Good uses for the A4

It suits commuters, couples and business trips. It suits a stretch of weeks between selling one car and buying the next.

Renting the A4 from CarmaCars

This exact car is not in our fleet at the moment; a request asks us to look for one. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. Ask for this exact car in your request, and we tell you what we can offer. We deliver around Toronto; pickup at our location is free.

Driver requirements

You need to be 18 or older at pickup, with an Ontario G2 or G licence valid for the whole rental. Drivers below 26 pay a fee each day of the rental, and older drivers pay none. The payment card and the licence must match the driver's name.

For damage to the car itself, have your own policy (OPCF 27), a credit card with rental car coverage, or add the CarmaCars Protection Plan. We hold the deposit shortly before pickup and release it after the return. Every renter goes through the same check of licence and identity before the car is confirmed.

What to expect when you book

First, a request: the car you like, when you need it, and where. No payment yet. Then we send an offer. The offer shows the price before 13% HST and the deposit. When you approve the offer and pay, the car is booked for you.

The rates you see on a car's page are the rates in your offer. From 7 days, the weekly rate applies; up to 365 days, a trip never costs more than the monthly rate. Book ahead if you can; 2 hours is the shortest notice we take.
