Collision replacement car: the 2012 BYD e6

The 2012 BYD e6 for a car while yours is off the road: the facts first, then the booking. After a collision, your insurer may pay for the rental once your adjuster approves it. When your adjuster approves a rental, we can bill your insurance company directly.

Under the hood

Its electric motor drives through a 1-speed automatic. It is fully electric: no gas at all, and you return it with the charge it had at pickup. With front-wheel drive, the weight of the engine sits over the driven wheels, which helps in winter.

For every 100 km it uses about 33.6 kWh. Its rated range is 196 km on a full charge; real range drops in cold weather and at highway speeds. The electricity for 100 km comes to about $5.04 at our price setting.

A good match for

It suits a weekend away when the train does not reach where you are going. It suits someone whose own car is in the shop for a while.

Size and space

Being an SUV, it handles luggage, strollers and sports gear well.

Tell us your dates and we check this car or the closest match. This exact car is not in our fleet at the moment; a request asks us to look for one. Similar cars are below if you need one sooner. The car can come to your door in the Toronto area, or you pick it up at no charge.

How renting with us works

Every booking starts as a request: the car, the dates and where you want it. Nothing is charged to send one. A real person reviews your request and sends an offer with the price spelled out. Say yes to the offer and pay; that is when the booking is made.

Prices on each car's page are before tax, and the offer adds the tax. Weekly pricing starts at 7 days, and a trip never costs more than that rate for a week. A request can be for today, as long as the pickup is at least 2 hours away.

Before you rent

An Ontario G2 or G licence and an age of 18 or more: that is where it starts. Drivers under 26 can rent with a young driver fee each day. Debit works on cars marked "no credit card needed"; the others take a credit card.

Every rate includes third-party liability. The car itself needs one of three options: OPCF 27, a card benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Each car's deposit is listed on its page, so you know it before you ask. Before confirming, we verify the licence and identity of each driver.

Still deciding?

The next step is yours: send a request whenever you are ready.
