Collision replacement car: the 2005 Ford Explorer

Here is the 2005 Ford Explorer, for anyone after a car while yours is off the road. When your adjuster approves a rental, we can bill your insurance company directly. After a collision, your insurer may pay for the rental once your adjuster approves it.

What the figures tell you

Under the hood: the 4.0L 6-cylinder and rear-wheel drive. It runs on regular gas. Rear-wheel drive gives balanced handling; in winter, the tires make the biggest difference.

At 15.4 L/100 km combined, a 300 km drive takes roughly 46 litres of fuel. That works out to about $23.87 per 100 km at our price setting.

The Explorer in everyday use

An SUV body means more headroom and a taller cargo opening than a car of the same length.

Who the Explorer suits

It suits winter trips and weekends with more gear than people. It suits a work trip where a reliable car matters more than anything else.

Our Explorer cars

Tell us your dates and we check this car or the closest match. This exact car is not in our fleet at the moment; a request asks us to look for one. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. Your offer shows the delivery fee if you want the car brought to you.

The rules, briefly

Drivers 18 and older can rent with a valid Ontario G2 or G licence. The daily young driver fee is shown on each car's page, for drivers under 26. At the handover we check your licence and the card in your name.

Every rate includes liability to others. Damage to the car is covered by your choice: OPCF 27, your card's rental benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Your deposit is held for the rental and released after the car comes back and is checked. We check every driver; it takes a few minutes and protects everyone.

What to expect when you book

First you send a request with the car and the times. No card is charged for it. We confirm the details and send an offer. It lists the rental, any delivery and any add-ons. You have 24 hours to approve an offer, and payment comes with your approval.

Prices on each car's page are before tax, and the offer adds the tax. Trips of 7 days or more use the weekly rate, and shorter trips never cost more than it. Same-day requests are fine with at least 2 hours of notice, when the car is free.

One more step

A request takes a few minutes and puts a real offer in front of you.
