The 1500 and Java

CarmaCars is based in Toronto, about 1,639 km from Java, and does not deliver there. If you are starting from Toronto, rent the car here and drive it to Java.

Close by are Selby, Lowry and Sitka, each with its own page.

Under the hood

It runs the 5.7L 8-cylinder, with rear-wheel drive. It runs on regular gas. Rear-wheel drive gives balanced handling; in winter, the tires make the biggest difference.

For 300 km of mixed driving, expect about 41 litres, from its 13.6 L/100 km rating. Every 100 km costs about $21.08 in fuel at our price setting.

Who the 1500 suits

It suits a weekend away when the train does not reach where you are going. It suits a stretch of weeks between selling one car and buying the next.

Space, size and seats

As a pickup truck, it has an open bed for things that would never fit in a trunk.

Renting this car

A request for your dates gets you an offer from a person. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now.

What to bring

An Ontario G2 or G licence and an age of 18 or more: that is where it starts. A daily young driver fee applies to drivers under 26, with no maximum age. At the handover we check your licence and the card in your name.

Before the keys change hands, one of three options must be in place for the car: OPCF 27, a card benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit is never taken when you book; it comes about 1 hour before pickup. Everyone who will drive signs the agreement after the licence check.

Request, offer, keys

The first step is a free request: which car, which dates, and how you want to get it. You get an offer that says exactly what the rental costs before tax. You have 24 hours to approve an offer, and payment comes with your approval.

The photos on a car's page are of that car. From 7 days, the weekly rate takes over. Short notice is fine: 2 hours is the minimum before a pickup.

Still deciding?

A request costs nothing, and the offer tells you everything.
