The Forester and Java

If you are starting from Toronto, rent the car here and drive it to Java. Java is about 1,639 km from Toronto, outside our delivery area.

Around Java you will also find Selby, Lowry and Sitka.

The numbers in plain words

Its powertrain is the 2.5L 4-cylinder with all-wheel drive. It runs on regular gas. With all-wheel drive, it pulls away more surely on slippery roads, though it does not stop any shorter.

A combined rating of 8.2 L/100 km works out to about 25 litres per 300 km. At our price setting, driving 100 km costs about $12.71, and a 300 km weekend about $38.13.

Best uses

Its all-wheel drive suits winter roads and trips to ski country. It suits a weekend away when the train does not reach where you are going.

Room inside

The higher seat of a compact SUV gives a good view of the road in traffic.

Renting the Forester from CarmaCars

This exact car is not in our fleet at the moment; a request asks us to look for one. Meanwhile, 6 similar cars are listed below. If you want this one, say so in the request; we confirm before you pay.

What happens when you ask for a car

A short online request with the car and your times gets things moving, at no cost. A real person reviews your request and sends an offer with the price spelled out. An offer is valid for 24 hours, and you pay only when you approve it.

Each car shows its rate for a day, a weekend day, a week and a month. Weekly pricing starts at 7 days, and a trip never costs more than that rate for a week. We need at least 2 hours of notice before a pickup.

Renting: the basics

From age 18, with an Ontario G2 or G licence, you can send a request. Drivers under 26 can rent with a young driver fee each day. You show your original licence and your card when we hand you the keys.

Every rate includes liability to others. Damage to the car is covered by your choice: OPCF 27, your card's rental benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit is taken about 1 hour before pickup, never when you book. Everyone who will drive signs the agreement after the licence check.
