Java and the Forester

CarmaCars is based in Toronto, about 1,639 km from Java, and does not deliver there. If you are starting from Toronto, rent the car here and drive it to Java.

Next door to Java are Selby, Lowry and Sitka.

Specs, explained

It runs the 2.5L 4-cylinder, with all-wheel drive. It runs on regular gas. All-wheel drive helps when pulling away on snow; braking and steering still depend on the tires.

Fuel use is rated 8.2 L/100 km combined, so 300 km needs about 25 litres. A 300 km weekend costs about $38.13 in energy at our price setting.

A good match for

It suits someone whose own car is in the shop for a while. It suits a weekend away when the train does not reach where you are going.

Practical details

As a compact SUV, it sits higher than a sedan, which makes getting in and loading easier.

Getting one from us

Tell us your dates and we check this car or the closest match. Meanwhile, 6 similar cars are listed below. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates.

Who qualifies

At pickup you must be 18 or older and carry your original G2 or G licence. Under 26, a young driver fee applies for each day of the rental. A card in the driver's own name is required at the handover.

If your own policy has OPCF 27 or your card covers rental cars, use that; otherwise add the CarmaCars Protection Plan. We take the deposit shortly before pickup and return it after the car comes back. If another person will drive, add them; they go through the same check.

How booking works

Pick your car, enter your dates and send the request. That is all you do at first, and it is free. We answer with a written offer: the car, the dates, the price and the deposit. The car is yours for those dates once you approve and pay the offer.

Compare cars side by side by opening their pages. Weekly pricing starts at 7 days, and a trip never costs more than that rate for a week. At least 2 hours must separate the request from the pickup.
