The Grumman Olson: Engine repair
CarmaCars does not do mechanical work, but for engine work on the Grumman Olson we arrange a trusted shop. Engine work ranges from a leak to a rebuild; the shop inspects the car and quotes it.
Your car, your notes
The shop sets its own price and time after it sees the car. The shop may ask for the VIN to order the right parts. Bring the owner's manual or service records if you have them.
Our part and the shop's part
The repair is between you and the shop; the rental is with us. You approve the shop's quote before any work. Your request goes to a person, who arranges a trusted shop or gives you its name.
Stay on the road
We deliver the rental to you and collect it when your car is ready. A rental keeps your week on track during the repair. Pick it up from us for free, or have it brought to you.
Small things that help
Check that all lights work every few weeks. Look at the tire tread before long trips. Keep the fuel tank above a quarter in winter.
What to ask
Ask how long the job should take, so you know how long to rent for. If you want to see the old parts, ask for them back. If the car must stay overnight, ask where it will be kept.
Make a request
Start with the car, the job and your location.
Request engine repair
Tell us when suits you. A person replies within one business day and arranges it with a trusted shop or recommends one; the shop sets its own price and time.
