If you need a rental car, read about the 2012 Fisker Karma here, then request it. Every car has its own page with its rates and calendar. You choose the car; a person confirms it and sends the price.

Specs, explained

It is powered by the 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo hybrid, with rear-wheel drive. It is a plug-in hybrid: it runs on electricity for a short distance, then on gas like a regular hybrid. Rear-wheel drive gives balanced handling; in winter, the tires make the biggest difference.

It is rated at 11.5 L/100 km combined, so budget about 35 litres for 300 km. On electricity alone it is rated for about 386 km before the gas engine takes over. A 300 km round trip costs roughly $53.49 at our price setting.

What the Karma is like

A car body like this keeps the weight low, so it feels settled on the highway. The EPA lists 198 litres for luggage, roughly about a large suitcase and a couple of soft bags.

Who the Karma suits

It suits people curious about the model who want to drive it before they buy. It suits anyone who needs a car for a few days, a week or a month without buying one.

Renting it

A request for your dates gets you an offer from a person. Similar cars are below if you need one sooner. There is no exact match in our fleet today. Request it and we search for one, or take a similar car. Delivery starts at $75 plus distance; collecting the car yourself is free.

How a booking comes together

You ask for the car you want for the dates you need. The request itself is free. Our reply is an offer that lists the rate, the kilometres included and any delivery fee. Approve it and the car is booked; decline it and nothing happens.

Every car on the site has a page of its own, with its calendar and its rates. A single booking can run up to 365 days. For longer, it renews month after month. Book ahead if you can; 2 hours is the shortest notice we take.

What we check

The minimum age is 18, and the licence must be an Ontario G2 or G, valid for the whole trip. No maximum age, and a daily fee only for drivers under 26. Payment is by a card in your name, shown with your licence at pickup.

Liability to other people is included in every rate. For the car itself, pick your own policy (OPCF 27), a card with rental car benefits, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. The deposit amount depends on the car and is shown on its page. Each extra driver is checked the same way and signs the rental agreement.
