Luup alternative and the Mazda Protege
If you need a rental car, the Mazda Protege is one option; this page explains the car and how booking works. Every car has its own page with its rates and calendar. You choose the car; a person confirms it and sends the price.
What the specs mean
The EPA does not rate this model year for fuel use; heavier trucks and vans are often not rated.
Living with the Protege
It is a straightforward car to drive, park and live with.
Best uses
It suits anyone who needs a car for a few days, a week or a month without buying one. It suits commuters, couples and business trips.
Rent it from us
This exact car is not in our fleet at the moment; a request asks us to look for one. Meanwhile, 6 similar cars are listed below. Ask for this exact car in your request, and we tell you what we can offer. Your offer shows the delivery fee if you want the car brought to you.
How a booking comes together
You begin by requesting a car for your dates; the request is free. We send the offer to your account and your email, with the total shown. Approve it and the car is booked; decline it and nothing happens.
Every car lists its own deposit and the kilometres included each day. From one day to 365, a single booking covers it. A request can be for today, as long as the pickup is at least 2 hours away.
What you need to rent
Drivers from 18 up, with an Ontario G2 or G licence, are welcome. Drivers under 26 can rent with a young driver fee each day. The name on the card has to match the name on the licence.
Every rate includes liability to others. Damage to the car is covered by your choice: OPCF 27, your card's rental benefit, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. We take the deposit shortly before pickup and return it after the car comes back. Each driver named on the booking signs the rental agreement.
Next step
Ready? Request the car. If you change your mind before approving the offer, nothing is charged.

Can I rent a Mazda Protege in Toronto?
Not from our fleet right now. Send a request for this exact car and we look for one for your dates. Meanwhile 6 similar cars are available below.
How old do I need to be to rent?
18 or older at pickup, with an Ontario G2 or G licence valid for the whole rental. Drivers aged 18 to 20 pay a young driver fee of $35 a day, and 21 to 25 pay $20 a day.
How much is the deposit?
Between $500 and $5,000, depending on the car. It is taken about 1 hour before pickup, never when you book, and the balance is released within 7 business days after you return the car.
What coverage do I need?
Third-party liability is included in the rate. For damage to the car itself, have your own policy (OPCF 27), a credit card with rental car coverage, or add the CarmaCars Protection Plan, priced in your offer by car and driver age. At $2,500 or more we claim on our fleet policy and you pay the $2,500 deductible.
Can the car be delivered?
Yes, anywhere, including Toronto Pearson International Airport and Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. Delivery starts at $75 plus the distance from our location, priced in your offer. Collecting the car yourself is free.
