Luup alternative and the 1985 Subaru GL
The 1985 Subaru GL for a rental car: the facts first, then the booking. Every car has its own page with its rates and calendar. You choose the car; a person confirms it and sends the price.
Under the hood
No fuel-use rating is published for this model year, so we leave those figures out.
Who the GL suits
It suits a work trip where a reliable car matters more than anything else. It suits someone whose own car is in the shop for a while.
Inside and out
Its car body is low and settled, with a separate trunk.
Rent this car
Want a car for specific dates? Put them in the request and we check. Similar cars are below if you need one sooner. None in our fleet right now; ask and we look for one for your dates. We bring the car to your address in the Toronto area, or you collect it for free.
Licence, age and card
Drivers from 18 up, with an Ontario G2 or G licence, are welcome. A daily young driver fee applies to drivers under 26, with no maximum age. Your original licence, not a photo, comes with you to the handover.
If you have no auto policy and no card benefit, the CarmaCars Protection Plan is the third option, priced in your offer. The deposit comes about 1 hour before you get the car, not at booking. We check every driver; it takes a few minutes and protects everyone.
Your booking, in three steps
Nothing to pay up front: the first step is simply a request. An offer follows, with the car we confirm and the full price for your dates. You pay when you approve, and only then.
Each car shows its rate for a day, a weekend day, a week and a month. Trips of 7 days or more use the weekly rate, and shorter trips never cost more than it. Book ahead if you can; 2 hours is the shortest notice we take.
Make a request
A request costs nothing, and the offer tells you everything.

Can I rent a 1985 Subaru GL in Toronto?
Not from our fleet right now. Send a request for this exact car and we look for one for your dates. Meanwhile 6 similar cars are available below.
How old do I need to be to rent?
18 or older at pickup, with an Ontario G2 or G licence valid for the whole rental. Drivers aged 18 to 20 pay a young driver fee of $35 a day, and 21 to 25 pay $20 a day.
How much is the deposit?
Between $500 and $5,000, depending on the car. It is taken about 1 hour before pickup, never when you book, and the balance is released within 7 business days after you return the car.
What coverage do I need?
Third-party liability is included in the rate. For damage to the car itself, have your own policy (OPCF 27), a credit card with rental car coverage, or add the CarmaCars Protection Plan, priced in your offer by car and driver age. At $2,500 or more we claim on our fleet policy and you pay the $2,500 deductible.
Can the car be delivered?
Yes, anywhere, including Toronto Pearson International Airport and Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. Delivery starts at $75 plus the distance from our location, priced in your offer. Collecting the car yourself is free.
