Specs, explained

The engine is the 2.3L 4-cylinder turbo, with four-wheel drive and a 10-speed automatic. It runs on regular gas. Four-wheel drive helps on rough ground and deep snow; on dry roads it behaves like any other vehicle.

At 11.4 L/100 km combined, a 300 km drive takes roughly 34 litres of fuel. A weekend of 300 km comes to about $53.01 at our price setting.

When the Explorer makes sense

It suits winter trips and weekends with more gear than people. It suits visitors who want a familiar car for a week in town.

Space, size and seats

It offers the space of an SUV with the height that makes loading easy.

Getting this car from us

Ask for this exact car in your request, and we tell you what we can offer. Similar cars are listed below if you need one now. This exact car is not in our fleet at the moment; a request asks us to look for one. Delivery starts at $0 plus distance; collecting the car yourself is free.

Booking in plain terms

Requests are free: choose a car, add your dates, and send it. Next comes our offer, with the confirmed car and every charge on one page. Payment happens only after you accept the offer.

Each car has its own page with its photos, its rates and its calendar. Stay as long as you need: up to 365 days a booking, then renew. Short notice is fine: 2 hours is the minimum before a pickup.

What we need from you

You must be 18 or older and hold a valid Ontario G2 or G licence. Drivers below 26 pay a fee each day of the rental, and older drivers pay none. A credit card in your name is needed, except on cars marked "no credit card needed", which take debit.

You need one of three things in place for damage to the car: OPCF 27 on your own policy, a credit card that covers rentals, or the CarmaCars Protection Plan. Your deposit is held about 1 hour ahead of pickup and released after the return. Each extra driver is checked the same way and signs the rental agreement.
